MyBudgetNerd is a consumer finance product we designed, built, and shipped to the App Store, now a subscription SaaS with active subscribers. Upload a bank statement and it parses every transaction, then categorizes them with a machine-learning pipeline. The result goes to the Oracle: an analysis engine that flags anomalies, projects each category forward, and explains in plain language what changed since last month.

It's privacy-first by architecture: statements are processed in memory, there's no requirement to hand over bank credentials, and every AI feature is opt-in. Oracle analysis is request-scoped and stored nowhere.

Easy to Use and Gives You Full Control
This app is incredibly easy to use and works seamlessly with several of my banks. One of my favorite features is that it doesn't require me to log directly into my bank accounts — I can import data from PDFs instead. The interface is intuitive and gives me complete control over what information I choose to share. I also like that the AI features are optional, which is great for users who may be hesitant about AI. Overall, it's a well-designed, flexible, and privacy-conscious app that I highly recommend.

    01

    Import

PDF statements you already have, parsed transaction by transaction. No bank logins, no credentials handed over.

    02

    Categorize

A machine-learning pipeline classifies every transaction and learns from the corrections you make.

    03

    Explain

The Oracle projects each category forward, flags anomalies, and says in plain language what changed and why.

    Why It Exists

Most budgeting apps demand direct bank-account logins and continuous data sharing, which is a dealbreaker for privacy-conscious users. And manual budgeting in a spreadsheet dies after two weeks of data entry.

MyBudgetNerd takes the middle path: import the PDF statements you already have, let ML do the categorization and analysis, and keep full control over what's shared.

    Capabilities

    What It Does

    1. 01

      PDF Statement Parsing

Upload statements from your bank and every transaction is extracted automatically, no manual entry.

    2. 02

      ML Categorization

A machine-learning pipeline classifies transactions, learning from your corrections.

    3. 03

      Oracle · Category Outlook

Each spending category projected forward from your own history, so next month is a number rather than a surprise.

    4. 04

      Oracle · Anomaly Detection

Unusual transactions flagged statistically, so duplicate charges and cost drift get caught early.

    5. 05

      Privacy-First · In-Memory

No bank logins required. Statements processed in memory; you control what's shared.

    6. 06

      Oracle · Financial Story

A plain-language account of what moved this period and why, written from your own numbers. It explains; you decide.

    Common Questions

No, and that's the point. You import PDF statements you already have, so you never hand over bank credentials and you control exactly what data the app sees.
